The sciatic nerve.
Purpose
To glide or stretch the sciatic nerve to reduce tethering along its path. This must be done with care and best under the direction of the physiotherapist. When done correctly, symptom can be significantly relieved.
To do this exercise
Lie on your back with your knee and hip bent to 90º and hold onto your leg.
Straighten your knee until you feel a gentle stretch, toes up, and then bend leg back down.
Repeat this 10 times.
Stop if there is any increase in your pain.
